?This is the year!? quoted senior pitcher, Jennifer Ulrich, with confidence in her softball team, which are a group of good leaders, and experienced new teammates. Although hitting can be better, the Ralston High softball team all still pull through with a talented group of new team mates, and excitement for a tough schedule, especially for upper-class men who have to face big rivals like Skutt and Beatrice.

Coach Smith quotes ?We are much more experienced this year.? We do not have a single player to rely on, we must get good play from a lot of players.? We really have no superstars, just a bunch of good players.? If we come together we could be very good.?

All seniors on the team are valuable and have important roles to play, but like Coach Smith says, ?There are no superstars in this team,? they are all hard working seniors who are helpful and good examples toward the underclassmen. They include Jenn Ulrich, Rachael Otte, Allison Shymkewicz, Jessica Farber, Courtney Hansen, and Page Pace.

But with a much more experienced team and motivation to go to state, the softball players put great work ethic, support, and hard work in themselves, and each other.

With positive attitudes from one of the team members and the coach himself, even with a tough schedule ahead of them, the Ralston high school softball team will be looking forward to great fast paced games of softball this year.
