What Changes in our Life With Spiritual Awareness ? Self Improvement

What Changes in our Life With Spiritual Awareness

There are not many who give a lot of attention to their spirit; giving most of their attention to the human body and the ego. Just as most people do not think much about their feet, yet are concerned with the condition of their hands.

The individualized human is made up of three parts; mind, body, and spirit. You would not exist in human form without all parts. At birth and for the first few years you are more aware of these parts then at any other time in your life. A baby spends much of his/her time playing with his feet for no other reason than they are there, and he is connected to all things. As time moves on, he becomes less connected to his body as he now focuses on other things around him as he develops preferences; likes and dislikes. Consciously he becomes a two part person of mind and body, forgetting his spirituality; his connection to all things.

Although he is reaching out in his world to explore where he lives and where he does not, his world becomes smaller as his curiosity about the most obvious and most accessible, fades. It is very much like giving all your attention to your hands ? the doers ? and less on the parts that take you there ? the feet. You spirit and your feet take you where you want to go; and where is that ? it?s anyplace you choose?

So what?s the big deal about being spiritually aware? Why would you want to bother about it, and what?s in it for you?

Very much like your feet, if you ignore your spirit, over time you become trapped in a box that takes you nowhere; you become dysfunctional and lifeless. If you are cut off at your feet, you become dependant on others and you lose much of your freedom. Spiritually dysfunctional; you will become arrogant and a victim of your own ignorance.

What do spiritually aware people have that you don?t; they have freedom?

When I say spiritually aware, I do not mean religiously aware. Religion is man?s attempt to explain religion in physical terms. You don?t have to be religious to be spiritual. We are all spiritual by nature and therefore everything that we do is spiritual.

People who return to their spiritual paths are curious about themselves and all things around them. They have learned from their experience without feet and have rediscovered them for the first time since birth and it opens up a whole new world. People of expanded spiritual awareness become engaged in their own welfare and development. They start to consider themselves first as the center of the universe. They begin to collect abundance, considering the love of self to be their highest priority. They begin to understand that if they have nothing, they have nothing to give. If they do not love themselves unconditionally first, they cannot love another in the same way. They have discovered feet once again and can now move freely along their destined journey.

Being spiritually aware does not excuse one from the physical life, but it frees one to experience all aspects of it. It is the only aspect of our physical existence that is consistent with our soul?s purpose.

As one becomes more aware spiritually, we begin to be concerned for the welfare of our bodies and our environment; giving more attention to our bodies as the vehicle which allows our physical experience. But it is only our experience of the environment that we need to be focused on. We begin to see our connection to it and understand its relationship to all things. The world is perfect as it is, but not necessarily our impression of it. The illusion of the world as it is can be changed when someone decides that it needs to be. Even in a perfect world there are those who don?t experience it as such. So I?m not talking about the world as it is, but as we think it is. Spiritually aware people are simple people who use the system to create their experiences; they are not caught up in it. They understand their relationship to their environment and to others. They live without fear except for the moments they wish to experience it.

Life in the realm of the spiritually aware is ongoing in this life, and the next. Knowing that one continues on even after the physical body has been released is what unconditional love really means. It is the freedom to screw up your life as many times as you wish and still have as many chances as you need to experience what you want with no penance or repercussions no matter what you have done. In truth, it is not possible to screw up your life, because you are creating it, and ?experience? is the true meaning of life. As it is only your experience that really matters; it is natural for you to evolve and move past what you are presently experiencing and create something even better.

It is our parents who guide us through this process, whether the relationship is loving or abusive. It is in this knowing that we choose our parents, our time of birth, and its circumstances before we are born. In hindsight we can see that they are the best facilitators in our early life, and they start us on our journey.

To understand this is true spiritual awareness, and accepting the consequences of our choices puts us in the position of creator, not victim. If you can accept yourself as the creator then you will also accept the power to change anything that you do not like or desire. If you do not understand these things it matters not right now. It simply means you are not there yet. What it really is is another way of understanding who and what you are that helps to explain your experiences in a way that is intentional, loving, and created in absolute unconditional freedom.

Unlike religion, spiritual awareness sets you free because there is no hidden agenda. Awareness of whom and what you are opens the way for evolution and expansion past your current beliefs. Every thought or action takes you away from it and brings you closer to the next. Every question leads to another and there are no definitive answers; spiritual awareness is not about answers. It?s the kind of questions that you ask which reveal your level or place of spiritual enlightenment. The prize or gift of enlightenment is in knowing or experiencing the trip.

The greatest gift in a life of awareness is in knowing that you can do no wrong, that your spirit never dies and you will never be punished. That you have absolute freedom to experience all that you desire and in doing so you will move to a different place of knowing from where you came. The trip itself is not about knowing, but of experiencing. It is your only purpose, it is what life is. In your physical life this awareness is paramount in moving from your present place to a better one. Practically, it makes your physical life easier, but doesn?t excuse you from it. The liberation comes from knowing that you are creating every circumstance of your physical experience. You are not a pawn or victim. You are both the creator and the created, and you are interacting with yourself.

In this knowledge you will find comfort and the joy of living in a physical world which is nothing more than a buffet of experiences that you choose from.

In spiritual awareness, everything changes. The circumstances of your life are known to you and expected. The magic of what the physical experience is becomes addicting and desired. Fear is no longer a part of the equation by choice. The beauty of how the system works becomes visible no matter what the experience and death becomes welcomed, not as an escape but as a doorway to new opportunities and experiences. This little secret will become known to all in the correct time and place as he/she evolves.

Health, Nutrition & Fitness: Sport, Physical Activity and Risk ...

?
An understanding of the most prevalent diseases and associated risk factors is crucial to conceptualise the role of sport in health prevention and promotion. In developing countries, sport is widely used as a tool to educate individuals and communities on the risk factors associated with HIV/AIDS. Whilst HIV/AIDS and other communicable diseases continue to affect millions of people around the world, there is a significant increase in the global burden of non-communicable diseases related to lifestyle changes in physical inactivity, unhealthy diets and tobacco use.

Cardiovascular diseases

Cardiovascular diseases include coronary heart disease and stroke and are the leading causes of death globally. Causes of cardiovascular disease are unhealthy diets, physical inactivity and tobacco use. Physical activity reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease by improving glucose metabolism, reducing body fat and lowering blood pressure.

Diabetes

Diabetes is a disease which occurs when the body does not produce or properly use insulin and this may result in Type I or Type II diabetes. Diabetes may be prevented, or at least delayed, by weight loss, a healthy lifestyle, in particular, regular physical activity. Diet, drug therapy and physical activity are also major components of the treatment of diabetes.

Obesity

Obesity is an abnormal accumulation of fat that may impair health and unlike other diseases, social and environmental factors play a significant role in defining obesity. The incidence of obesity is a growing concern internationally with an estimated 400 million obese people in 2005.? The global rise in the incidence of obesity is related to a shift in diet and decreased physical activity levels.

Cancer

Cancer is not a single disease with a single type of treatment and in fact, there are over 200 types of cancer involving abnormal growth of cells in different parts of the body. It has been estimated that 40% of all cancers may be prevented by a healthy diet, physical activity and no tobacco use.

Mental health

One in four patients visiting a health service has at least one mental, neurological or behavioural disorder (such as depression, anxiety or mood disorders) that may not be diagnosed or treated. There is evidence to suggest that physical activity can reduce the symptoms of depression and can also be help to ameliorate mental well-being through improved mood and self-perception.

Physical Activity, Chronic Disease and Communicable Diseases

Global trends in physical inactivity claim that more than 60% of adults do not participate in sufficient levels of physical activity and physical inactivity is more prevalent among women, older adults, people from low socio-economic groups and people with disabilities.
In 2005 it was estimated that 80% of cardiovascular disease deaths occurred in low- and middle-income countries. The prevalence of those suffering from overweight and obesity is increasing in developing countries and even in low-income groups in richer countries. The rise of chronic disease, coupled with the existing burden of communicable diseases such as HIV/AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis, produces a ?double burden of disease? on low- and middle-income countries.
There are a range of methodologies utilised around the world to deliver health promotion and prevention strategies and an interesting example is the emergence of internet-based health information for developing countries. Sport and physical activity, however, remains an attractive low-cost strategy to promote healthy behaviours and lifestyles throughout the lifespan and reduce the burden of chronic diseases on public health systems.

Friday Box Office: 'Pirates of the Caribbean' Won't Hit $100 Million Mark in Domestic Debut

Disney Enterprises

"Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides"

Disney?s 3D Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides is off to a softer start in North American than overseas, reflecting the overall downturn at the domestic box office and the fact that it?s been four years since the last installment in the blockbuster franchise played on the big screen.

Judging by Friday matinees, On Stranger Tides should gross in the mid $30 million range for the day, meaning it will earn closer to $90 million for the weekend, versus $100 million. That would put it well behind the $114.7 million opening for Pirates of the Caribbean: At World?s End, the last installment in the blockbuster Johnny Depp franchise.

Overseas is a different story, where On Stranger Tides is off to a dazzling start, grossing $44.2 million on Wednesday and Thursday as it rolled out in its first 37 territories. That?s 10 percent ahead of At World?s End.

Foreign box office observers say On Stranger Tides film should open north of $150 million internationally, and as high as $200 million.

On Stranger Tides is an expensive proposition for Disney, having cost $250 million to produce before a major marketing outlay.

The studio was hoping for a $100 million opening domestically. Nevertheless, On Stranger Tides is still hoping to score the best opening of the year, besting the $86.2 million earned by Fast Five.

From Universal, Fast Five grossed $34.4 million on its first Friday, including $3.8 million in midnight runs. On Stranger Tides grossed $4.7 million in midnight runs on Thursday, playing in the double the number of theaters that Fast Five did.

On Friday, On Stranger Tides moved into a total of 4,166 theaters in North America, including 256 IMAX locations, a record number for the large format exhibitor.

Elsewhere at the Friday box office, Universal?s Bridesmaids was enjoying a good hold after opening to an exceptionally strong $26.2 million last weekend and cuming $38.4 million through Thursday. The R-rated comedy, from director Paul Feig, should come in No. 2 for the weekend.

Sony Pictures Classics specialty debut Midnight in Paris was off to a good start on Friday as it opened in six theaters in New York and Los Angeles.

After The Rapture, Who Will Walk Your Dog?

Around sunset today, May 21, the Rapture is scheduled to begin ? at least according to a Christian evangelist named Harold Camping and his followers. When the moment arrives, they say, believers will go to heaven and nonbelievers will endure five months of hell on Earth.

But there's a crucial question for those who are saved: Who'll take care of their loyal pets?

Well, Bart Centre says he'll be there. For $135 (plus $20 for each additional critter; PayPal accepted), he promises to look after your dog or cat or hamster or even llama once you are spirited away to heaven.

Centre started his company, Eternal Earth-Bound Pets, two years ago. But business didn't really boom until Harold Camping set the date of the Rapture at May 21, 2011.

"We increased our rates in January, and since that time for the first quarter of this year we're 27 percent up over the first quarter of 2010," Centre tells Guy Raz, host of weekends on All Things Considered.

Right now Eternal Earth-Bound Pets has contracts with 259 clients ? that means roughly $35,000 in contracts ? and is set to rescue dogs, cats, a cockatoo and even a horse in Montana in the event of the Rapture.

Centre assures potential clients that his staff will still be on Earth after doomsday by testing employees to confirm that they are Atheists. How does he do that? Well, he just asks them to commit blasphemy.

"They are all very willing to do that. And that confirms that even in the absurdly remote chance that we are wrong and the believers are right, our rescuers are going nowhere."

Potential clients often ask Centre how they can be sure his company will follow through with that promise to take care of their animals in a post-Rapture world.

"What we try to do is reassure our clients that they can trust us, number one," he says. And if that isn't good enough, Centre suggests clients "find a friend who may be a Jew, a Hindu, a Muslim, an Atheist, a Wiccan, a Catholic, an Episcopal, anyone they think is not going to be Raptured and appoint them as their post-Rapture power of attorney."

And if the Rapture doesn't come? Those clients are out of luck, Centre says: There's no money-back guarantee.

Six rising threats from cyber criminals

May 19, 2011

Hackers never sleep, it seems. Just when you think you've battened down the hatches and fully protected yourself or your business from electronic security risks, along comes a new exploit to keep you up at night. It might be an SMS text message with a malevolent payload or a stalker who dogs your every step online. Or maybe it's an emerging technology like in-car Wi-Fi that suddenly creates a whole new attack vector.

Whether you're an IT manager protecting employees and corporate systems or you're simply trying to keep your own personal data safe, these threats -- some rapidly growing, others still emerging -- pose a potential risk. Fortunately, there are some security procedures and tools available to help you win the fight against the bad guys.

1. Text-message malware
While smartphone viruses are still fairly rare, text-messaging attacks are becoming more common, according to Rodney Joffe, senior vice president and senior technologist at mobile messaging company Neustar and director of the Conficker Working Group coalition of security researchers. PCs are now fairly well protected, he says, so some hackers have moved on to mobile devices. Their incentive is mostly financial; text messaging provides a way for them to break in and make money.

Khoi Nguyen, group product manager for mobile security at Symantec, confirmed that text-message attacks aimed at smartphone operating systems are becoming more common as people rely more on mobile devices. It's not just consumers who are at risk from these attacks, he adds. Any employee who falls for a text-message ruse using a company smartphone can jeopardize the business's network and data, and perhaps cause a compliance violation.

"This is a similar type of attack as [is used on] a computer -- an SMS or MMS message that includes an attachment, disguised as a funny or sexy picture, which asks the user to open it," Nguyen explains. "Once they download the picture, it will install malware on the device. Once loaded, it would acquire access privileges, and it spreads through contacts on the phone, [who] would then get a message from that user."

In this way, says Joffe, hackers create botnets for sending text-message spam with links to a product the hacker is selling, usually charging you per message. In some cases, he adds, the malware even starts buying ring tones that are charged on your wireless bill, lining the pocketbook of the hacker selling the ring tones.

Another ruse, says Nguyen, is a text-message link to download an app that supposedly allows free Internet access but is actually a Trojan that sends hundreds of thousands of SMS messages (usually at "premium SMS" rates of $2 each) from the phone.

Wireless carriers say they do try to stave off the attacks. For instance, Verizon spokeswoman Brenda Raney says the company scans for known malware attacks and isolates them on the cellular network, and even engages with federal crime units to block attacks.
